Since Eastside Dermatology opened its doors in 1987, our experienced staff has been working closely with patients to achieve consistently excellent results. Our goal is to provide you with the highest quality care, using the safest techniques available, all while focusing on your comfort and overall satisfaction. Alan J. Parks, MD
Dr. Alan J. Parks founded Eastside Dermatology & Skin Care Center and has served as its medical director since 1987. Dr. Parks is board certified in dermatology with clinical interests including cosmetic and surgical dermatology, laser treatments, BOTOX® Cosmetic, and skin cancer surgery. Dr. Parks is a recipient of the American Academy of Dermatology Community Service Award for skin cancer screening and the Edmund D. Lowney Teaching Award for teaching dermatology residents. He was also the first physician to perform purely tumescent liposuction in Columbus, Ohio.
Dr. Alan J. Parks graduated from the State University of New York - Downstate Medical School in 1983. After finishing school, Dr. Parks held an internship in internal medicine at Downstate Hospitals. In 1987, he completed his dermatology residency at Ohio State University, where he served as chief resident during his final year. Dr. Parks is a fellow of both the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. He is also a member of the Ohio Dermatologic Association and the Central Ohio Dermatologic Society, where he has previously served as president.
Dr. Ryan M. Carlson
Dr. Ryan M. Carlson completed his dermatology residency at Oakwood Southshore Medical Center in affiliation with Michigan State University, serving as chief resident. He graduated summa cum laude with honors in Biology at The Ohio State University. Subsequently, his medical training was completed at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then did a traditional rotating internship at University Hospitals of Cleveland. Dr. Carlson is a member of several organizations, including the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, and the American Contact Dermatitis Society. His interests include general dermatology, cutaneous surgery, cosmetic dermatology, and contact dermatitis. Certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology, Dr. Ryan M. Carlson practices at the Hilliard, Ohio office of Eastside Dermatology.
Dr. George Skandamis
Dr. George Skandamis grew up in Toledo, Ohio. He graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Toledo. He then obtained his medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo, where he was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honorary society and was awarded the Richard and Frances Leighton Scholarship for academic excellence. He went on to complete his medical internship and dermatology residency at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, where he was trained extensively in general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Skandamis is proud to be back in Ohio at Eastside Dermatology to serve all of your skin care needs, including the use of BOTOX® Cosmetic, dermal fillers, and various laser therapies.
Sara Taylor, PA-C
Sara Taylor is a certified physician assistant who joined Eastside Dermatology in 2007. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Allied Medical Professions from The Ohio State University and her Physician Assistant degree from Tri-C’s Physician Assistant Program. She has extensive didactic and clinical training in recognizing and treating common dermatologic conditions as well as performing minor in office procedures. Sara not only cares about delivering the utmost quality of care but also strives to form open, caring relationships with her patients, thereby leading to a higher level of communication and improving patient care. “Making patients feel comfortable and knowing that they can communicate openly and easily with me is very important.” Sara is also an advocate for educating patients with the knowledge and tools they need to keep their skin healthy and looking its best.
