Spider veins are small blood vessels that are located directly underneath the skin. The veins, which are typically blue, red, or purple in color, often branch out in many directions causing a web-like appearance. Causes of Spider Veins

Spider veins can be caused by a hereditary disorder, or as a result of pregnancy, prolonged standing, or other conditions that may be associated with increased pressure in the veins. During the sclerotherapy treatment, a sclerosing agent is injected into the veins using a tiny needle, causing them to contract and to collapse. The procedure is typically performed during a short out-patient session at your doctor's office. It is minimally-invasive and does not require anesthesia.

Laser Treatments

You can also get laser treatment for spider veins. Laser vein treatment uses laser energy to shrink the veins. The minimally-invasive procedure is performed on an out-patient basis at your doctor's office.  Several laser vein treatments may be required to achieve satisfactory results.
